Saludaciones.
Progresses are being made on the game. I have been working a bit since the last post, but what surely was a blow was the update of the game engine I use to program. I have to begin all over again with the code and let's say that isn't the best that could have happened.
Still, I am very proud of the project's rythm. Advances in lore, music and graphic design have been made, and on April 1st (I SWEAR it is not a joke) I will begin a period of more intense work. Meaning that development posts will be not that frequent, I just want to make some reminders to those who are reading this blog:
- The Reddit of Sapphire Crown is founded and you can search it and join freely
- The Discord server isn't ready yet. I didn't work on it as I have been making mostly music for the game
- The game's soundtrack lasts around 40 minutes right now.
- All the main characters are graphically designed, plotted and fleshed out
- Some mechanics and interface are currently under design with a good advancement. Most windows and their concepts are fully ready.
It really seems we're getting somewhere now. However, I prioritise the programming to the game plotting. Coding the game is around 60 % and another 10 % can only be performed after the game is developed. And as my programming skill are a bit, ahem, rough, that doesn't mean we can't make progresses. I proved it wrong, as the remaining 30% is what I plan to do for this year, and efficiently. Right now, the game is looking better than ever and, even if it takes some time, I am proud of whatever may come out of it.
And, before I leave, there will be sneak peeks and trailers coming out soon. When? Probably after the GameDev Season 1 (Don't know what that is? Check r/SapphireCrown where it is explained) a sneak peek will be published. Maybe art? Music? A character? A mechanic? Who knows. Who knows.
I just know one thing, and that is that, even if not known, I will never stop programming my game until I can sit down, with the trilogy finished.
Stay tuned
