Saludaciones.
Did anyone manage to decipher the teaser I left? Either way, here we are. Development post 8. How time flies... just 5 months ago, this project was born itself, and we're already here.
(...not like I am overworking a bit, haha...)
So. Let's recap what this GameDev Season 2 was. A shorter one, but trust me, a lot more intense.
WHAT IS NEW?
The main objective of this Season was the improval of the game's engine to the point of finishing the demo's alpha. Was this achieved?
...well, no. I set a too high milestone for my capabilities. HOWEVER. That does not mean there was no work at all: the opposite, there are many new features. -> The combat system is real close to completion and has been expanded and refined -> New game mechanics that involve sounds, player interaction and visual alterations -> Polishing and refining of the overall interface -> Optimisation of the game -> Bugraid -> Inventory system, stats and interactions within these fields developed, tested and implemented -> Global scripts able to record different game mechanics allowing for saving and loading (this last part is still in development)
And more! There is even more features! But hey, you don't need to know it all, don't you? Besides, I am busy helping my community in r/place and you should too.
Jokes aside, the effort I put this weeks is not the pace of work of these last months, and I still haven't accomplished my objective. What does that mean? That I'll keep working until the alpha is finished. ONLY THEN I will take a break and upload some more. I'll make another post when the Alpha is done, and it will also include some concept arts I made so you can take the first insights into the true game content.
And those who are here, reading this, THANK YOU. Even without revealing a bit of the game, the lore, the graphics, the mechanics and anything... you're still interested in this amazing path we're taking together. I promise I will not dissapoint you guys :)
I am being brief for three main reasons: 1, I don't need to waste your time with this update, so I'll make it more elaborated next time. 2, Revealing a lot about the game now would make it a bit boring. 3, They still haven't left
I'll kick them out soon, they are unsettling me.
And to end this post... out of all the work that begun with the DevSeason... how much of it is done?
88%
And out of that 88%, I expect to complete the features soon. So... we'll see each other soon? Probably. Because after the percentage is reached, the polishing comes. The polishing tasks are more dynamic and will take more time. I'll make a post once the alpha is finished.
...
(and i still hate dialogues)
Stay tuned.
